The Nap Girls are at it again by collaborating with Mija for her Glitter Ball this past Friday at Exchange LA. Performers included Blaise James, Ryan Forever, Gammer, Jewel Tones b2b Fritz Carlton, DJ Clickbait, Bianca Oblivion and Cocodisco.
The Nap Girls are a “collaborative organization whose mission is to connect and empower women and GNC individuals by nurturing creative and professional growth” with roots in electronic dance music.
Glitterati provided complimentary face and body glitter. The glitter used is “the first plant based cosmetic glitter that takes the litter out of glitter.”
The Nap Girls had a bake sale inside of the Disco Den where all of the proceeds were donated to the ACLU. The American Civil Liberties Union was “founded to ensure the promise of the Bill of Rights and to expand its reach to people historically denied its protections.” The ACLU has gained popularity and funding since Trump has been elected. The people are taking it into their own hands to fight for civil rights by supporting the ACLU.
Just this past April, Skrillex, Imagine Dragons, Incubus, Halsey, and Zedd produced a concert benefitting the ACLU. You can read more about it on Billboard here.
LA is a special place. LA is the only city I’ve been to where event organizers throw shows to raise money for non-profits and enjoy giving back to the community. #PartyForAPurpose
LA is a hub of influence and I am glad that people in the scene takes this into account and plan accordingly to create a new standard for social responsibility everywhere.
