Holy shit. LA Gives Back was amazing. It was the most fun I’ve had all year. It was 6 rooms filled with LAs top underground organizers. 2016 has been a global shit-show, and it’s events like these that give me faith in humanity.
iHeartComix, Brownies and Lemonade, Emo Nite, Free Grilled Cheese, Space Yacht, Late Night Laggers, Restless Nites and Ham on Everything each took over a stage at Union. It was amazing. The first room I went to was Emo Nite. Emo Nite has snow foam everywhere and was the perfect outlet to scream my angst out.
I was wandering around to different stages when I found FREE GRILLED CHEESE and yes hunty, there was Free Grilled Cheese and it was delicious.
Each stage had their own special guests including Diplo, Valentino Khan, Party Favor, Ekali, OG Maco, Mr. Carmack, Kittens, ETC! ETC!, and more. It was rage central.
Party Favor x Diplo x Valentino Khan
Promnite x Mr. Carmack x Kittens
I couldn’t peel myself away from the Brownies and Lemonade + Ham On Everything stage, despite the floor shaking. 😉

The proceeds ($51,825) were donated to Casa Libre, My Friend’s Place and Monday Night Mission.
Casa Libre is a youth shelter for homeless boys under 18, providing specialized services for undocumented and unaccompanied immigrant/refugee minors.
My Friend’s Place was Founded in 1988 by a group of dedicated volunteers, My Friend’s Place assists and inspires homeless youth to build self-sufficient lives. Each year, there are over 10,000 young people living on the streets of Los Angeles. At My Friend’s Place, they can access services ranging from basic needs, such as food and clothing, to clinical case management and health education.
The sole aim of Monday Night Mission is to feed the less fortunate of Skid row who are turned away from homeless shelters.
