This week Intersessions hosted a workshop at the Upstairs at Ace Hotel in DTLA. Intersessions is “an Inclusive Sound Initiative: Providing Safe Spaces For Women + LGBTQ.” It was created by Chippy Nonstop, Rhi Blossom and Shy Daughter. What makes Intersessions unique is that it’s a safe-space inclusive environment that supports women and LGBTQ+ people in music. There is a lot of coverage in the media about how EDM is a male-dominated industry. Now, in 2016, there are organizations like Nap Girls and Intersessions that promote gender equality in music. #napindaclub
The overall vibe was warm and welcoming. The teachers were patient, humble and hands-on. The workstations included vinyls & CDJs.
Francesca Harding shows us how to use Serato Scratch.
Honey shows us how to use CDJs.
After the workshop, we went outside to the upstairs rooftop area where the teachers got to spin. When Jen Lasher took over the CDJs she invited us all to spin with her.

(lol I was way happier than I look)
Thank you to Intersessions for organizing such a dope event. They will be back in LA soon.
